Our challenge fundraising champions make our programmes possible by running, wheeling, walking, swimming and raising vital funds for our community. Taking on a challenge for North London Cares is the perfect way to push yourself, have fun and make a huge difference.

By taking on a challenge for North London Cares, you’ll get:

Hackney Half Marathon

Hackney Half 2020

Run 13.2 miles through vibrant East London on flat and fast city streets. The cheering crowds will carry you past highlights like the Hackney Downs and the Hackney Empire plus there will be live bands and DJs at every mile to keep you going. Cross over the finish like into a full festival of fitness on the Hackney Marshes.

London 2 Brighton Walk

This year, team North London Cares is taking on the London 2 Brighton Challenge! Join us to walk from London to Crawley (56km) or London to Brighton (100km).

Our walks are the highlight of our challenge calendar. Not only are they a test of stamina and determination, but they are also an amazing team event, where you'll might find you make friends for life, as well as new walking buddies. Start off in beautiful Richmond, where you'll follow the river down to Kingston before you traverse across to Brighton over the beautiful south downs.

When: 28th/29th May 2022
Registration fee: £10/20 (until 28th February)

Take in the sights of London and raise money to tackle loneliness and isolation. The ASICS 10K is a great challenge for those who are beginning their running journey, looking to get back into running or training for a larger run.

London Thames Bridge Trek

Join over 2000 walkers and trek across the Capital taking in unrivalled views of the skyline, and historic landmarks. Setting out from the Putney Bridge start we had East towards the City, zig-zagging over the array of 16 historic bridges – each with its own fascinating story – and a mid point rest stop at The Oval Cricket Ground for some snacks & drinks. 25km later, it’s a party style finish line celebration in Southwark Park past the final crossing – the majestic Tower Bridge.

Royal Parks Half Marathon


One of London's most iconic half marathons, the Royal Parks Half Marathon's stunning 13.1 mile route takes in the capital’s world-famous landmarks on closed roads, and four of London’s eight Royal Parks – Hyde Park, The Green Park, St James’s Park and Kensington Gardens. Be one of the 16,000 runners to take on this year's epic challenge.

Santa in the City

Join Us For Santa In The City

It may be cold but a wonderful way of keeping warm and getting into the festive spirit is by getting the blood pumping and completing a 5km fun run dressed as Santa around the City of London.

This is a great team challenge and no previous experience is needed for a 5k like this. The route is relatively flat and you can either run, jog or walk.

Date: Wednesday 7th December or Thursday 8th December 2021
Location: St Pauls Cathedral, London
Fundraising target: £75 per Santa or £60 each if you're a team of 5+ (includes free Santa suit)
